Job seekers can meet us and help raise money for charity with a raffle at the Anglesey Show next month (August, 2018).

We will be at the Anglesey Show on August 14 and 15 to speak to anyone interested in working in care. We will also be running a raffle to win a giant teddy bear with proceeds being donated to Dementia UK.

Amanda Dingli, Recruitment and HR Officer at our Bangor office, said: “As our business continues to grow, we are actively seeking caring people to join our expanding team, so we’ll be going along

to the Anglesey Show to talk to attendees about the possibility of a career in the care industry. We have more than 50 vacancies to fill in North, Mid and South Wales and we hope to find some potential new employees at the show.

“Anyone is welcome to visit our stand and talk to our experts about the industry, what it is like to be a carer and what training we offer.

“During the show we’ll also be running a raffle in aid of Dementia UK. The prize is a giant teddy bear and tickets will cost £1. The raffle will be drawn on August 15 and the winner will be notified via telephone.”

Dementia UK provides Admiral Nurses for families affected by dementia. These nurses are continually trained, developed and supported by the charity and help families live more positively with dementia, while giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions that can be hard to find elsewhere.

Amanda added: “Being a carer is a very rewarding job and gives people the opportunity to carve a career for themselves – it is absolutely a job for life!

“Every successful applicant receives full training, which includes a company induction, first aid, information on dementia, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users.

“New recruits are given free uniforms as well as 28 days paid holiday, pension contributions, paid travel between calls and paid mileage. We also reward them with access to a national staff discount scheme for all major brands and they can take part in our refer a friend scheme where they can earn themselves a £150.

“We also offer the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), formerly known as National Vocational Qualifications, to all our team members who show commitment, reliability and true passion. We provide a great support network for all of our carers.

“Being reliable is key to this role as people will be looking after the needs of vulnerable adults. Applicants also need to be even tempered and caring and must enjoy making a positive difference to people’s lives.

“Being patient, able to cope with change and having the ability to display empathy and warmth are also essential. Anyone interested in joining our award-winning team should come along to the show or get in touch by calling 01248 677919.”

The Anglesey Show is hosted by the Anglesey Agricultural Society and attracts more than 60,000 people. As well as animals and livestock, the show also has an exhibition pavilion, equestrian events, craft exhibitors and more.
