JOB SEEKERS can meet recruiters from a North Wales care agency and help raise money for charity with a raffle at the Anglesey Show next month (August, 2017).
Staff from Abacare will be at the Anglesey Show on August 15 and 16 to speak to anyone interested in working in care. They will also be running a raffle to win a giant teddy bear with proceeds being donated to Hospice at Home Gwynedd & Anglesey.
Amanda Dingli, Recruitment and HR Officer at Abacare, said: “As our business continues to grow, we are actively seeking caring people to join our expanding team, so we’ll be going along
to the Anglesey Show to talk to attendees about the possibility of a career in the care industry. We have more than 50 vacancies to fill in North Wales and we hope to find some potential new employees at the show.
“Anyone is welcome to visit our stand and talk to our experts about the industry, what it is like to be a carer and what training we offer.
“During the show we’ll also be running a raffle in aid of Hospice at Home Gwynedd & Anglesey. The prize is our giant ‘Abacare bear’ and tickets will cost £1 per strip. The raffle will be drawn on August 16 and the winner will be notified via telephone.”
Hospice at Home Gwynedd & Anglesey is a community focused charity that cares for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses across Gwynedd and Anglesey. It differs from other hospice organisations in that 80% of the work it does is caring for people in their own homes.
The remaining 20% is made up from its work in its day hospice and its complementary therapy service.
Amanda added: “Being a carer is a very rewarding job and gives people the opportunity to carve a career for themselves.
“Every successful applicant receives full training, which includes a company induction, first aid, information on dementia, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users.

The Anglesey Show is hosted by the Anglesey Agricultural Society and attracts more than 60,000 people. As well as animals and livestock, the show also has an exhibition pavilion, equestrian events, craft exhibitors and more.
Members of staff from Abacare will be at the Anglesey Show at The Showground, Holyhead on Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16.
