I wish I’d brung me brolly poem

We recently shared one of our carer, Dave Williams’ poems about a day in the life of a carer, which we were extremely impressed by, so we’re thrilled to be able to bring you another of Dave’s works, which we think is very fitting for this time of year and shows how dedicated our carers are as they go out in all weathers:

I wish I’d brung me brolly,

As I went to work today,

Lifting my head upwards,

To the sky that’s dull and grey.

I’ve got my coat and hat on,

But there’s not much protection from these rains,

Look it’s bouncing off the road,

And filling up the drains.

I wish I’d brung me brolly,

I’m soaked through to my skin,

Now I’ve started sneezing,

And can’t stop shivering.

I wish I’d brung me brolly,

I hate this blinking rain,

If it carries on much longer,

I’ll get water on the brain.

So I wish I’d brung me brolly,

As I went to work today,

Turning my eyes heavenwards,

To see a sky that’s dark and grey.
