National Minimum Standards for Domiciliary Care

Criminal Records Bureau checks
Most staff who work in services registered or inspected by the CSSIW including adult care homes, children's homes and domiciliary care agencies are required by law to get checks from the Criminal Records Bureau. This provides an important protection for the people who are cared for by these services.The requirements for the timing and level of check vary depending on the service and the job role. Inspection
CSSIW is committed to ensuring that people who use social care services are receiving a good quality of care and that their welfare and rights are properly safeguarded at all times. CSSIW inspect against regulations and the National Minimum Standards. You must comply with all the legislative requirements and should meet the National Minimum Standards to ensure that your service users are kept safe from harm, and that the care they receive is of the best possible quality. The General Social Care Council (GSCC)
GSCC is the regulatory body for the social care workforce in England. The General Social Care Council was established in October 2001 under the Care Standards Act 2000, it’s role to increase the protection of service users, their carers and the general public by regulating the social care workforce and by ensuring that work standards within the social care sector are of the highest quality. As well as promoting high standards within the social care sector, it is also able to champion social care and to help give it the recognition it deserves. Find out more from:
