A summary of Abacare services
To comply with our stated principles and outcomes, our service will be provided in such a way as to:
- Enable people to maintain their independence in their own homes and to live an ordinary lifestyle for as long as possible
- Preserve peoples quality of life, enable them to acquire or to re-acquire basic living skills and achieve full potential
- Respect people as individuals by taking account of race, gender, ability, age, sexual preference, language, diet, culture, age, faith and to tailor the service to their needs.
- Promote personal choice and enable Service Users, and their carers wherever possible, to make informed choices and give people control over decisions that affect them.
- Keep Service Users fully informed about the purpose of providing a particular service
- Regularly review, develop and deliver the domiciliary care service in a sensitive and caring manner.
- Ensure consistency in the provision of care.
- Adapt the service to conform to the changing needs of the Service User.
- Assist and support the family carers to continue to provide care
- Maintain the best possible care with continues assessments, audits and quality control
- Maintain a flexibility of attitude
- Help people to care for themselves as much as they are willing or able to
- Always have their dignity respected
- Allow privacy for themselves their belongings and their business affairs
- Strict confidentiality of Service Users
